Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Signs your pelvic floor may need physiotherapy.

  • Uncontrolled peeing with an activity such as jumping, coughing, sneezing
  • An urgent need to use the washroom
  • Having to use the washroom more than 5-8 times per day
  • Waking up throughout the night to pee
  • Unwanted loss of feces/stool
  • A feeling of heaviness down there
  • Pain during Intercourse/Sexual Activity
  • Bowel movements that are difficult to pass 
  • Bowel movements that occur less than three times per week
  • Painful pelvic/speculum exams
  • Frequent urinary track infections
  • Hip, low back, sacroiliac and/or pelvic girdle pain
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Tail Bone Pain – can be injured through the birth process or from a trauma such as a fall
  • Itching/Burning in the pelvic region
  • Scrotal/Penile Pain
  • Pain after a surgery such as Caesarean or prostatectomy
  • Pain with Sitting
  • Pregnancy:

                        1) prevent and treat incontinence 

                        2) prevent and treat pelvic pain

                        3) enhance labour and delivery

                        4) minimize trauma to the pelvic floor
