Jennifer holds a Kinesiology degree from McMaster University, a Bachelor of Physical Therapy from Queens University and also a Masters of Rehabilitation Sciences from Queens University. She has worked in both the private and public sector as a physiotherapist and in case management for over 15 years.
Jennifer started her journey to becoming a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist after experiencing her own pelvic floor dysfunction following the traumatic birth of her first child. Jennifer was left with anxiety, the baby blues, immense pelvic pain and was given a high risk of developing postpartum depression. With the support of family and friends, Jennifer enrolled in counselling and was able to seek help from an out of town Pelvic Health Physiotherapist. Jennifer found that the baby blues passed, the anxiety and pain subsided, and postpartum depression never developed.
Following this experience, Jennifer actively worked to gain more knowledge in pelvic health while retaining a strong understanding of the importance of the mind and body connection. The result of this wholistic approach was the successful birth of Jennifer’s second child via a scheduled caesarean and a now empowered mother of two children.
Jennifer’s passion is now to educate others and help them move forward toward an improved self.
Always eager to expand her knowledge through continuing education, Jennifer is able to provide the best personal care to her patients, as well as coaching other Physiotherapists in Pelvic Health.
